Say Farewell: Welcome What's Next
Through most of the spring we were all trying to figure out what our lives would morph into as we navigated the new realty of a pandemic. I spent a good portion of that energy on whether to keep the space we beautifully restored that many of you know as my place of business.
At the end of May I decided to put in my notice and start the process of saying goodbye. By the end of this week I will have removed all of my belongings and finished the little rituals that have supported me in letting go. For some, it may seem like an office is an office, big whoop, there’ll be others. I trust that the like-minded folks that are part of this community can feel into how much that was a part of my journey to offer services and open my heart through the process of saying yes to it and loving it back into beauty and usefulness. At the end of this piece are a handful of images I took as I began to say goodbye. That day I chose to lay on the floor and let my eyes water as they landed on all the bits that give my heart a squeeze of joy when I’m there. The hardware that we boiled and scraped; the wood floors, full of character, that we also nearly boiled (!) and scraped; hand built mouldings, tables and a screen; the little stool donated from my husband’s childhood, the massive plant donated from my lovely friend. Light beyond compare from a soaring skylight. My eyes still water when I look at the images.
I’m still figuring out how or if to offer in-person sessions again. I may be sharing space with a dear friend and colleague. I will keep you updated as that develops. In the meantime, distance offerings are still available as they’ve always been. I adore online sessions and gatherings. Especially with individual sessions, often what a person needs is the slight separation of either video or phone to be able to drop more firmly into safety and stay present to the work at hand. I am happy and grateful that this work can continue in a safe, physically distant way.
In the month of May a small group completed the first offering of my Co-Regulation Collective live online course. I believe that will be offered again this fall. The online version of Soul Salon has had a bit of a break, as I’ve been deep in the throes of keeping my center while weathering the upheaval of the first half of 2020. Of course, I will be in touch as I get more clear about whether to continue that offering. I welcome any feedback from you regarding what would be most helpful in our “new normal”. Please feel free to drop me a line if there is a need for support that you feel I could help with, or know someone who would be well supported by my services.
If you’ve read this far, thank you for letting me share this update and a bit of what feels like a memorial to the past 6 years I’ve spent in the physical home of my business. Many magical moments have been had in sessions and in Soul Salon gatherings there. I’ve learned and grown so much while inhabiting the beautiful energy of this place.
